Upon arrival at one of PTAC USA’s EPA Certified Refurbishment, Recycling, and Reclamation Centers, previously owned PTAC Units are inspected by our Preliminary Diagnostics Team, who ensure that all components are operating within their proper tolerances, with no leaks, rattles, or failures. Minor issues are noted for our Refurbishment Technicians to address down the production line, where they can calibrate, repair, or replace any faulty components. Units with deeper structural problems are diverted to PTAC USA’s Decommissioning Department, where an EPA Certified Refrigerant Reclamation Technician drains the coolant from the machines and disassembles them for recycling. This process keeps several tons of refrigerant, semi-precious and heavy-metals, and other potentially hazardous materials out of America’s landfills every year!
Those select units that make it through the preliminary inspection process move on to be thoroughly cleaned, deodorized, and resurfaced, to remove any environmental contaminants that they may have picked up during their previous operation. Once this is complete, the units move on to the Refurbishment Department, where a team of highly skilled technicians work to restore our Refurbished PTACs to the quality standards that PTAC USA’s customers demand. Once any issues have been addressed, the units get a bit of touch-up paint, before final inspection and packaging.
Using this process, PTAC USA refurbishes thousands of Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners every year, in a wide variety of makes, models and capacities. Take a look at our Current Refurbished Inventory now, and experience the quality and savings of PTAC USA Refurbished Climate Control Solutions.
